# Newsletter Wednesday, October 7, 2026

Daily update on the AI tools we track. Headlines come from public sources (X, GitHub, Hacker News); the Dutch commentary and summaries are machine-generated. Each headline links to our own news page on that topic; the source link is next to it.

## In brief

Within the ecosystem surrounding Claude and MCP, various tools are appearing, such as an offline scanner for local servers, an Obsidian plugin for Claude Code skills, and the zettelkasten-mcp expanded to 19 tools. In the open-source field, Reflection AI is launching a new model alternative, OpenTPU is introducing an AI-designed accelerator, and Redactpdf.ai has been released for document editing. For self-hosted stacks, Borg UI now offers restore checks and guided backups, while the client-only app Quartermaster provides management for over 60 services on Apple devices. Additionally, the Lisp-based agent Autolith and a translation tool for Copilot API requests have appeared, among others.
